09. Fonts, they are a-changin’

A slightly less impacting error I noticed recently (in a nonproofing role) was the font treatment on two ads I was trafficking. Two ads, same client, different type. When I brought it to the proofreader’s attention, I was told, “It’s been approved. Don’t worry about it.”

“But is there documentation or reason for the inconsistency?”

“Not sure. But I’m sure it’s fine.”

Perhaps I’m often meddlesome and cause more work for others, but I always like things to go out correctly the first and only time. This instance was out of my jurisdiction, and thus I was rendered helpless. But don’t think it didn’t secretly drive me batty.
